Privacy policy

This is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data Genta processes when you visit genta.cl, why, for how long, and what rights you have over it. It is written in accordance with Chilean Law No. 19.628 on the protection of private life and Law No. 21.719, which amends it and establishes the Personal Data Protection Agency. If you visit us from the European Union, we also recognise your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we process and why

This site has no forms and no user accounts, and uses no advertising or tracking networks. The data we process is limited and specific:

Technical data from each visit

Like any web server, ours logs every request: the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from (if your browser reports it), and your browser and operating system.

  • Purpose: keeping the site running, finding errors, and protecting it against abuse and attacks.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the site.
  • Retention: kept for eight weeks, then deleted.

Language preference

If you choose a language, we remember it in a cookie called genta_lang, so the site appears in that language on your next visits.

  • Purpose: making the site work the way you chose. It is a strictly functional cookie and is used for nothing else.
  • Retention: one year.

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: which pages are visited, from which countries and on which devices. Google Analytics is only activated if you accept it in the cookie notice; if you decline or do not respond, it is not loaded.

  • Data: online identifiers (the _ga and _ga_* cookies), pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.
  • Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
  • Retention: the cookies last up to two years; analytics data is kept for at most 14 months.
  • Processed by: Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, as data processor.

We store your choice about analytics in a cookie called genta_consent for twelve months, so we do not ask you again on every visit.

Emails you send us

If you write to [email protected], we process your name, your email address and what you tell us.

  • Purpose: replying to you and, where relevant, preparing a proposal or following up on a project.
  • Legal basis: your own request and, if we work together, the contractual relationship.
  • Retention: for as long as the conversation or business relationship lasts, and afterwards for as long as legal and tax obligations require.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or transfer personal data. It is processed on our behalf only by the providers that make the site possible:

  • Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers the site and protects it against attacks, and therefore processes visitors' IP addresses.
  • Our hosting provider, on whose server the site runs and the technical logs are stored.
  • Google, for analytics, only if you accept it.
  • Zoho Corporation, which runs our email.

Some of these providers process data outside Chile, including in the United States. In those cases, the transfer is made with the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and restriction at any time, and withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before.

To do so, write to [email protected] stating which right you wish to exercise. We will reply within the time limits set by law and, if necessary, ask for the minimum needed to confirm your identity.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to Chile's Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales). If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.

Minors

This site is aimed at businesses and professionals, not at children under 14. We do not knowingly process data of children under that age.

Security

The site runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to the servers and logs is restricted. No system is completely invulnerable, but we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if the services we use change. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on the site.
